DEREK ALLEN

Derek serves as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Tillman’s Corner in Mobile, Alabama, where he is passionate about making disciples, preaching and teaching the Word of God, and helping people grow in missional living.

Born and raised in Etowah County, Alabama, Derek sensed a call to ministry at a young age and has spent his life serving the church through preaching, leadership development, and missions. Before coming to Tillman’s Corner, he served as a church planter in Miami, Florida, where he spent seven years making disciples and developing leaders in a diverse urban context.

Derek holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Jacksonville State University, a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in New Testament from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He and his wife, Lindsay, were married in 2003 and are the grateful parents of five children: Jackson, Meredith, Sawyer, Elizabeth, and Marshall. Outside of ministry, Derek enjoys dating his wife, spending time with his children, reading and writing, running, and playing basketball.
